About this project
Latin America and the Caribbean, one of the world's most disaster-prone regions, faces growing challenges in disaster preparedness and evacuation management, with critical gaps in cross-border coordination, real-time information sharing, and structured evacuation planning. Building on lessons from Hurricane Beryl and the NASA Lifelines incubator program, this project aims to transform the current protype into multi-functional regional Pre-Evacuation Preparedness and Response Platform. The project follows a two-phase approach: first, conducting a needs assessment and market dialogue to refine requirements and technological opportunities, including private sector engagement; and second, co-creating and piloting the platform using agile methodologies like Scrum.
