About this project
The project aims to strengthen the organizational, administrative and coordination capacities of the Prefecture of Caltanissetta, enhancing local migration governance and the reception and integration of Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), particularly those in vulnerable situations. As lead entity, the Prefecture will oversee implementation in collaboration with public and private partners, in line with Italy's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) objectives. As a project partner, the International Organization for Migration's Coordination Office for the Mediterranean (IOM COfM) will support implementation through a specialized Project Assistant deployed to the Prefecture. IOM will facilitate coordination with private partners and strengthen referral mechanisms to ensure the timely identification and case management of vulnerabilities among migrants hosted in reception and pre-removal centres (CPA and CPR). Its support will also enhance monitoring and inspection of the reception system and strengthen the technical and organizational capacity of inspection units.
