About this project

The project will facilitate durable solutions to Sweden for 900 people in need of international protection in Rwanda, Türkiye and Uganda, alongside family reunification pathways for approximately 40 family members of beneficiaries of international protection residing in Sweden. Running from April 2026 to March 2027, the project supports Sweden's implementation of the two-year Union Plan for Resettlement and Humanitarian Admission under the Union Resettlement Framework Regulation. Sweden's pledge to resettle 900 people in 2026-2027 contributes to a coordinated and predictable EU approach to international protection. It also advances safe and legal pathways, equitable responsibility-sharing, and cooperation with countries hosting large displaced populations. IOM will provide comprehensive assistance throughout the resettlement process. Support will include logistics for selection missions, pre-departure orientation, pre-migration health activities, and safe and dignified movement assistance. Approximately 40 family reunification beneficiaries will also receive pre-departure and travel support. These activities will facilitate beneficiaries' arrival and early integration into host communities while advancing durable solutions and the EU's strategic approach to resettlement and humanitarian admission.
