About this project
The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) brings together the former ACRS Pathways 1, 2 and 3 within a single operational framework, providing safe, regular and protection-sensitive routes to the United Kingdom. This consolidated approach strengthens strategic oversight and operational consistency while preserving the tailored safeguards and eligibility criteria applicable to different beneficiary groups. During the 2026-2027 programme period, ACRS will support the resettlement of approximately 800 Afghan beneficiaries travelling from Pakistan and Iran. IOM will provide coordinated assistance throughout the resettlement process, including accommodation and welfare support in countries of departure, pre-migration health activities, assistance with visa application and issuance, cultural orientation, and comprehensive movement support. Through this integrated approach, IOM will help ensure that beneficiaries travel safely and with dignity, reunite with family members where applicable, and are better prepared for their arrival and early, sustainable integration into communities across the United Kingdom.
