About this project
GGGI will seek to tap EUR 500K from the AFD's Facility 2050 to conduct agriculture sector adaptation modelling, planning and investment prioritization. This is a blend of long-term sector policy orientation, aligned with major climate policy, and shorter-term investment planning. - Economic Modelling - Prepare economic model of adaptation options in the agriculture sector at the provincial level and carry out analyses of options and formulate recommendations- Climate Applications - Model recommendations are integrated in to the Lao PDR Long-Term Strategy/Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy under development by the World Bank; the model's recommendations would also be integrated into the NAP sectoral adaptation planning work which GGGI will conduct. GGGI will also formulate recommendations for inclusion in the next round of NDC enhancement, scheduled for 2024 - which GGGI hopes to undertake for Gov Lao PDR. - Resilient Agriculture Investment Plans and Policy Recommendations - Based on the results of the modelling, GGGI will prepare resilient agriculture policy recommendations and investment plans at either national or provincial level.
