About this project

The project will address the underlying drivers of Selva Maya forest degradation, including through creation of a more enabling policy environment, strengthening governance and protections, mobilize finance, and incentivizing conservation. System challenges to be addressed by this project include Protected Areas (PA) and the Areas Voluntarily Destined for Conservation (ADVC) governance, information and monitoring systems, unsustainable development patterns (tourism, agriculture), Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) access to finance, market drivers and transboundary collaboration across the Maya Forest.
