About this project

CN to support climate action in Pacific and pac (duplicate of Idea #1587 to create CRM record for Program Earmarked) Idea #1587 was recorded at the time the program earmarked does not create corresponding CRM opportunity record. PAC20 created from I587 will be withdrawn or marked as on Hold. The proposed intervention will strengthen climate resilience in Pacific and Caribbean SIDS and reduce GHG emissions by providing support to climate policy and planning (e.g. NDCs revisions, NAPs, low carbon strategies covering mitigation and adaptation, mainstreaming climate change into forestry, agriculture, water and other sectoral policies), developing and financing solutions adapted to SIDS climate adaptation and mitigation needs (nature based solutions, solar water irrigation, climate resilient buildings for schools and health centers, climate smart agriculture, etc.) and providing capacity development support directly to governments and key public and private sector stakeholders through GGGI’s on-the-ground, embedded model. The intervention will further scale up climate financing, build institutional capacity for absorption and implementation of that finance, and create the enabling environment needed to support the public and private sectors of SIDS in transitioning to resilient, low-carbon economies.
