About this project
The recently approved post Global Biodiversity Framework (Target 21) has identified the high need to ensure that the best available data, information and knowledge, are accessible to decision makers, practitioners and the public to guide effective and equitable governance, integrated and participatory management of biodiversity, and to strengthen communication, awareness-raising and education. With this background, Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) is leading development of a project proposal that will be submitted to IKI for funding. The Global Green Growth Institute has been requested to join this consortium with the following specific roles: (i) Policy out puts for mainstreaming biodiversity into investment; (ii) Developing Communication Strategy for Biodiversity; (iii) Capacity Development for decision makers; and (iv)Technical support including contributions to the development of training materials. NABU is the oldest and largest environment association in Germany and has global operations dedicated to conservation of biodiversity and local capacity development in many developing countries. Objectives of NABU include preservation of habitats and biodiversity, promotion of sustainability in agriculture, forest management, and water supply and distribution which are in line with GGGI's programmatic solutions. Furthermore, partnering with NABU will positively contribute to GGGI's support to current and potential members of GGGI at grassroot level.
