About this project
The Sultanate of Oman has submitted its first update to the second NDC in 2023 and is planning on formulating its NDC 3.0. Similar to other countries, before Oman can raise its ambition, it is planning on implementing its NDC 2.0 policies and actions. To do this in a comprehensive manner, Oman requires an implementation framework. The proposed FALCON: Implementation Framework for Achieving Long-term Climate Objectives in Oman’s NDC project will create this NDC Implementation plan for the country and will significantly enhance clarity and progress toward achieving Oman’s NDC targets. Strengthening institutional capacities, creating robust data and information flow structures, and aligning with GCF Readiness Funds to support climate change mitigation and adaptation activities will be the focus of the FALCON Project.
