About this project
This 30-month technical assistance project is designed to accelerate Tonga’s climate ambition under the NDC Partnership Action Fund (PAF). The project focuses on six key outputs, starting with a comprehensive review of the Second NDC's progress. This will be followed by the development of the enhanced NDC 3.0 and its alignment with Tonga's Long-Term Low-Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS). A crucial component is the establishment of an MRV system for the waste sector, enabling accurate emissions tracking. Finally, the project includes capacity building through a Youth Awareness Strategy and practical support for investment pipeline planning, which involves developing concept notes and a resourcing strategy for priority projects.
