About this project

Uganda will be co-chair of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action for the 2-year period covering from April 1st 2025, to 31st March 2027. Under this project, GGGI will (a) provide strategic advice to the Ministry of Finance of Uganda to identify and propose top-level outcomes to pursue through the Coalition, (b) work with the Ministry of Finance to define and operationalise concrete actions. GGGI will provide technical assistance to design and implement dialogues and trainings and will identify and facilitate the participation of key experts from governments, academia, the private sector, NGOs and IGOs, including its own experts. GGGI will leverage its extensive experience supporting green finance mobilization to bring knowledge on innovative financial instruments and carbon markets to support finance mobilization through the Coalition members.
