About this project
PlantwisePlus (PW+) supports Burundi to predict, prepare for and prevent potential plant health threats and reduce crop losses. The vision of PW+ is to empower female and male small-scale farmers to manage evolving plant health threats, increase their incomes, improve food security and safety, and reduce biodiversity loss, through the promotion of sustainable crop production that protects biodiversity. The program is implemented along three pathways: 1. Improving access to agricultural services; 2. Reducing crop protection risks; 3. Strengthening phytosanitary services. The exit strategy consists of activities aimed at generating at least partial sustainability of on-going results, particularly the institutionalization of new systems and practices within national structures.
