About this project
Lebanon’s water sector faces major challenges due to poor governance, outdated infrastructure, weak regulatory enforcement, and climate change. The National Water Strategy (2024-2035) aims to reform the sector through four pillars: Enhanced Water Security, Improved Public Services, Sustainable Utilities, and Good Governance. A key initiative, "Develop a Stormwater Management Plan," addresses Lebanon’s vulnerability to extreme storms, erosion, flooding, and water pollution. The plan includes risk assessments, integrated infrastructure solutions, legal reforms, and monitoring programs. This project will develop a national stormwater strategy, focusing on policy and legal gaps rather than infrastructure design.
