About this project
The Princess Máxima Center has a well-established partnership with both the Clinical Center for Children’s Healthcare and the Tabletochki Charity Foundation. Before the war, this collaboration focused on providing clinical and organizational consultations. During to the ongoing war in Ukraine, strengthening the pediatric oncology facility in Lviv through the enhancement of neurosurgery services is critical. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children over one year old, making access to timely and specialized care essential. This initiative addresses the immediate need for resilient pediatric oncology care during wartime but also establishes a sustainable foundation for long-term healthcare improvements in Ukraine. In addition, the initiative focuses on the development and reuse of an existing building, ensuring the efficient use of resources, minimizing environmental impact, and preserving ecosystems by adopting sustainable construction methods.
