About this project
Communities in Kanem, Barh El Ghazel, and Batha in Chad face interconnected challenges that intensify socio-economic instability. This project will empower women and youth with technical, entrepreneurial, and financial skills, as well as start-up inputs, to enable them to develop sustainable livelihoods and access market opportunities. At the same time, it will improve community access to essential services through participatory planning processes that promote ownership, equity, and collaboration around shared resources. In parallel, the project will build the capacities of traditional leaders, local authorities, and infrastructure management committees so they can act as credible actors of peace, accountability, and conflict mediation. Together, these efforts will strengthen social cohesion, enhance community resilience, and improve livelihoods and services, contributing directly to greater stability and durable solutions in the target provinces.
