About this project

The project aims to strengthen ecofeminist leadership and climate resilience in Tunisia by empowering women and youth to take an active role in promoting sustainable, inclusive, and locally rooted development. It focuses on two priority areas , El Kef and Tabarka (Jendouba) where CALAM will consolidate existing women-led initiatives and support the creation of new ecofeminist hubs. Through a combination of training, cooperative support, communication, and advocacy, the project seeks to enhance women’s leadership, autonomy, and environmental awareness. The initiative combines community-based activities (training, cooperative development, local fairs) with media and communication components (podcasts, digital campaigns, and radio content) to promote gender and climate justice. It will also link both local hubs through a national ecofeminist network, giving visibility to women’s experiences and amplifying their voices in public debate. By integrating sustainable farming practices, leadership capacity building, and awareness-raising, the project contributes to gender equality, climate adaptation, and social cohesion, aligning with national priorities and local realities.
