Private Sector Promotion for Agriculture Sector in Upper Egypt

About this project

This project aims to enhance climate resilience and water smart agriculture in Upper Egypt through private sector promotion and market system development. The project addresses the issues prevailing at both the upstream and downstream of the agricultural value chain in Upper Egypt. The key target group of the project are producers in the selected value chains in Upper Egypt. Through the adopted Theory of change, market champions will be incentivized to fulfil their role by being provided with the needed c apacities to access new markets, finance, and technical knowledge, thus increasing their productivity/profitability. By doing so, the latter will be presented as legitimate market champions, which will lead to producers approaching them for support to adopt climate and water smart agricultural practices.
