About this project
In addition to introducing many new and innovative elements, the project builds upon more than a decade of successful experience implementing AGP I and II. While the project will introduce many new elements, it will also seek to scale up many of the successful interventions and approaches of Agricultural Growth Program (AGP) I and II. The Ethiopia Food System Resilience Program (FSRP) will expand its reach to additional woredas and specifically scale up or continue the push for (a) an integrated “one-wash” agenda using an “irrigation plus” approach; (b) the mainstreaming of nutrition-, gender-, and climate-smart agriculture; (c) an integrated research and extension system that is responsive to farmers; (d) soil and water conservation measures in upstream catchment areas that ensure the sustainability of SSI and other activities related to micro-scale irrigation technologies (MSITs); and (e) improved agricultural service delivery through and the transition to a pluralistic agricultural extension system.
