About this project

Overarching objective of this 4-year program is to support food systems in the Beira Corridor benefiting directly around 230,000 people. It will be accomplished by increasing the productivity, profitability, resilience, and ecological sustainability of small-scale, market-oriented farming systems. By strengthening farming systems, the program will address challenges facing subsistence / resilience-oriented smallholder farmers (SHF), with a focus on building nutrition security with a long-term view to rural resilience. It will also address the challenges facing market/ growth-oriented SHFs, by focusing on increasing the profitability of farming systems with a long-term view to rural transformation. Throughout all planned activities, it will be mainstreamed gender and youth empowerment, leveraged expertise in climate smart and regenerative agriculture and business, and incorporated digital approaches to improve efficiency and increase reach at low cost.
