フィジー気象局の敷地内において、太平洋島嶼地域の気象分野における中核拠点としての研修センター、測器センター及び防災啓発展示施設を整備することにより、同地域の気象分野における人材育成及び気象データの品質管理の強化を通じて気象関連業務サービスの向上及び早期警戒態勢の強化を図り、もって同地域における防災・気候変動対策の強化に寄与する。
