About this project

ltpgtHagar International’s Project Bridges to Hope and Healing (BHH), aims to support 36,398 direct beneficiaries from the returnee and host communities in the two targeted provinces (Kabul and Paktia). The project will address critical gaps in the delivery of high-quality Mental health and psychosocial services (MHPSS), by providing basic MHPSS services through two BHCs and three CHCs in Farza, Gulkhana, Bagrami, Shewaki and Deh Sabz, and two new, community-based centers in PD 6 Kabul and Deh Sabz district. Inclusive mental health and psychosocial health services will be supplemented by life skills sessions for women and youth, and strong referral pathways will be built across the different centers. We will also support with psychiatrists and counsellors, one District Hospital and one General hospital n Kabul and we will set up a specialist Mental Health Unit in Paktia. New MHPSS services in these hospitals will include the provision of essential psychotropic medication, counselling and in some places play therapy. In Paktia we will be setting up in patient services. lt/pgtltpgtltbrgtThe project prioritizes assistance to returnees, IDPs, youth, women and People with Psychosocial disorders (PPSDs) and those with physical disabilities or others experiencing vulnerabilities.
