About this project

ltpgtltbrgtThe proposed project delivers integrated, time-bound humanitarian assistance to returning IDPs and conflict-affected populations in Abe Dongoro district, Horo Guduru Wollega Zone, addressing urgent needs in Agriculture, MPCA, ES/NFI, GBV, Health, and WASH. The protracted crisis has led to food insecurity, livelihood collapse, displacement, and protection risks, including SGBV and weakened social systems. Women, girls, and vulnerable groups face heightened risks of sexual violence, child marriage, and exploitation.nbspThrough a multisectoral, community-centered approach, the project will restore livelihoods, improve food security, strengthen protection mechanisms, and enhance access to essential services, reducing dependence on external aid.nbspThe Agriculture and Livelihoods component targets 13,167 people (6633 females) through the provision of crop seeds, farm tools, and cash support to resume cultivation and stabilize food security.nbspThe MPCA intervention supports 550 female-headed households through unconditional cash transfers to meet urgent food and shelter needs, prevent negative coping mechanisms, uphold dignity, and stimulate local markets.nbspThe ES/NFI response benefits 1,304 people (653 females) with emergency shelter kits and repair cash, ensuring safe, dignified living conditions and reducing protection and health risks.nbspThe GBV response reaches 620 women and girls through case management, psychosocial support, legal aid, and referrals.
