ltpgtThe ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to leave thousands of displaced and returnee households living in damaged homes, overcrowded shelters, and inadequate living conditions with limited access to essential household items and basic shelter improvements. Many families have lost household assets, furniture, cooking facilities, and basic shelter components, affecting their safety, dignity, hygiene, and overall well-being. Women, children, older persons, persons with disabilities, and chronically ill individuals remain disproportionately affected.ltbrgtTo address these needs, the Palestinian Housing Council (PHC) proposes the project “Restoring Safety and Dignity: Household Shelter Support and Technical Assistance for Displaced and Returnee Households in Gaza City and Khan Younis.” The project combines household-level assistance with targeted shelter improvement support through two complementary components.ltbrgtThe first component will improve living conditions for vulnerable households through the distribution of 100 locally manufactured Kitchen Shelter Units, 100 Kitchen Kits, and essential household shelter furniture for 500 households.
