About this project
The project is an extension of the first phase of the Malaria Control and Prevention Project in Yemen. The Gulf Cooperation Council countries funded the second phase with $12,000,000. The project includes a wide variety of preventive activities, including the distribution of 1,300,000 impregnated bednets and spraying campaigns targeting more than 500,000 homes with residual insecticides, in addition to other spraying campaigns with a variety of insecticides. The project also includes the purchase and provision of medications for adult patients, children, and pregnant women with malaria, as well as the provision of 1,000,000 rapid malaria detectors, in addition to medical supplies for laboratories and various types of investigation activities. It also supports the Yemeni National Program with the necessary equipment and devices to combat the epidemic.
